The transition? Mark died in 2010 and I sought artistic community. Having met a wild spark of artist, I bought 20 acres in Mendocino County. Initially the house was the art project, intending it as a place for other artists to meet and create while we did the same as we lived there. The home itself, through our combined energy, was pretty wonderful. But after the nine months of overhaul, we realized that living together, continuing that vision, wasn’t possible. It was 4 years of hoping to find connection that would have me remain…in a place 7 miles up a gravel road, the isolation and heat was a sysiphian endeavor. Still, between the garden, the space, there were moments of creation.
